SUSU Library Wins Mikhail Prokhorov Fund

 

According to the results of the open charitable competition entitled «The New Role of Libraries in Education» (program block Science, Education and Enlightenment of the charitable program Literary Culture), the SUSU library has won a grant from the Mikhail Prokhorov fund for the realization of the project entitled «Publish Properly!». The head of this project is the director of the SUSU scientific library, Svetlana Smolina.

SUSU Rector Meets with Applicants for 2017

 

This past Sunday in the South Ural State University conference hall, the traditional meeting between the rector and applicants and their parents was held.

The meeting between the university rector Aleksandr Shestakov, traditionally called “Rector’s Hour”, was held July 2nd 2017 in the SUSU conference hall. More than 150 future first-year students and their parents attended the meeting.

The head of the largest university in the South Ural region told the audience about the advantages of enrolling at SUSU and shared his plans for the future.

Field Day – 2017 exhibition has been held in the Troitsk are of the Chelyabinsk region. Members of the agro industrial complex from different parts of the Russia and neighbouring countries gathered in the Karsi village. On June 28th, discussions were held on the trajectories and trends of development for the intercultural dialogue between the peoples of Russia and Kyrgyzstan. The reason for this was the recently-held round table at SUSU, entitled Russia and Kyrgyzstan: New Tendencies of Intercultural Dialogue in the Context of Regional Geopolitics.

SUSU Postgraduates Receive the First Diplomas

 

A ceremonial awarding of diplomas on the completion of postgraduate studies was held June 29th. Diplomas were awarded to 32 postgraduates, among which were 4 international students.

This year, postgraduates graduated by the federal state academic standard. Earlier, graduates were only given documents about their completion of the candidate exams and a form about completing their postgraduate program.

The Ball of School Medallists Was Traditionally Held at SUSU

 

The traditional Ball of School Medallists was held on June 23. School leavers who had graduated school with a medal, as well as the University staff members, whose children had graduated from school or university, were rewarded at the ball. Graduates from 20 educational partner institutions were present in this event. 

Medallists who wish to enter SUSU will get additional 10 points regarding their individual achievements. Last year over 140 school leavers with golden and silver medals decided to study at our university.

On the last Saturday of June the Day of Inventors and Innovators is celebrated every year. At SUSU, researchers work on developments, work on inventions, and form innovative propositions all year.

Inventions are completed on every level, from students to professors. Annually, small innovative businesses are founded at our university based on their creations. The businesses work on transferring technology and offer completed solutions to a wide range of contractual partners.
