Legends of the Moon Goddess: Traditions of Chinese New Year

There are more than 2000 international students studying at South Ural State University. For them, celebrating New Year in Russia is a new and extraordinary experience. We asked international students to tell us how New Year is celebrated in their home countries. Student of the SUSU Institute of Linguistics and International Communication from Zhejiang Ocean University (China), Zhong Lifeng, told us about traditions and legends of Chinese New Year.

SUSU Celebrates New Year: Results of the Happy New Year Video Contest are Summarized

A Happy New Year corporate video contest in which schools and institutes of our university participated took place at South Ural State University.

The Laboratory of Composite Materials will open at South Ural State University on December 29th at 12:00.

The Laboratory of Composite Materials was organized and operating at South Ural State University since 2012. It appeared as a result of the reorganization of the “Composite Materials and Constructions” Research and Education Center. Now, the laboratory is part of Research and Development Institute “Mechanical Engineering” and its research has both theoretical and practical importance.

SUSU Wins Contest for State Support for Centers of the National Technological Initiative

On December 22nd, the Contest Committee formed by the Russian Ministry of Education and Science summed up the results of the selection stage on choosing recipients of state support for centers of the National Technological Initiative for Universities and Scientific Organizations. Six research and development institute centers of excellence were chosen, four of which are at universities, and two – at scientific organizations.

Project by SUSU Students Will Be Main Concept for New Chelyabinsk Eco-park

The park will be arranged on a 50-hectares area of the territory between Moldavskaya, Zakharenko, Beivelya and Kharisa Yusupova Streets. The concept will be based on the project by the SUSU students, which was chosen by the jury within the frameworks of a contest. A 30-meter observation tower with spirally ascending stairs will be the main attraction of the eco-park. The project is planned to be fulfilled next year already.
