SUSU Researchers Design a Unique Electric Drive for Metallurgical Manufacturing

 

Aleksey Gorozhankin, candidate of technical sciences, associate professor of the Electric Drive Department, won the competition Supporting Young Science last year, held at South Ural State University in 2016 as part of the 5-100 Project.

His work was dedicated to the research of electric drives for metallurgical manufacturing.

Electric drives for such a specific sphere of manufacturing as metallurgy are a unique project. They are characterized by the fact that each electric drive is, literally, a one-off product which is not mass-produced.

A+ Practical!: SUSU Sends Students to the Czech Republic for Practical Training

 

South Ural State University is sending students of the Institute of Architecture and Construction to the Czech Republic for practical training at the company Topolwater, which designs and manufactures equipment for cleaning waste water.

The company’s work is in partnership with the firm Kubicek, which manufactures air-blowing equipment necessary for the operation of their stations and also with the German firm Wilo, who makes pump equipment.

Today close cooperation with large Russian manufacturing companies plays a valuable role in the development of science. One example of successful cooperation is the Laboratory of Electronic Control Systems Covers Design within the Public Research Institute Test Mechanical Engineering of South Ural State University. The laboratory works successfully within one of the partner businesses in Chelyabinsk’s Metallurgic region and helps solve important industrial tasks. The laboratory is led by Danis Mukhamadeev.

Director of РА QS for Eastern Europe and Central Asia Holds Lecture at SUSU

 

A lecture series was held at SUSU, entitled “Subject-based QS ratings: the main stumbling blocks and ways to advance.”

In this seminar, the director of the QS ratings agency for eastern Europe and central Asia, Zoya Zaytseva, noted that our university has the potential to enter the global ratings and improve its position in subject-based ratings.

In her lecture, Zoya paid special attention to the importance of maintaining contact with graduates.

Yesterday the record number of applicants at SUSU was broken – over 24 hours more than 1500 people sent their documents to the admissions campaign. For those applicants who have still not made their choice, second-year student from the Institute of Architecture and Construction Pavel Pichugov spoke about education in the institute, his summer practical lessons, and plans for the future.

This is the SUSU Elite Training Center, which was formed within the 5-100 Russian Academic Excellence Program. The goal of the project is to give future specialists a chance to receive additional professional skills while diving in to the world of science and, therefore, improve their career growth prospects.

SUSU Rector Meets with Applicants for 2017

 

This past Sunday in the South Ural State University conference hall, the traditional meeting between the rector and applicants and their parents was held.

The meeting between the university rector Aleksandr Shestakov, traditionally called “Rector’s Hour”, was held July 2nd 2017 in the SUSU conference hall. More than 150 future first-year students and their parents attended the meeting.

The head of the largest university in the South Ural region told the audience about the advantages of enrolling at SUSU and shared his plans for the future.

Field Day – 2017 exhibition has been held in the Troitsk are of the Chelyabinsk region. Members of the agro industrial complex from different parts of the Russia and neighbouring countries gathered in the Karsi village. There were agrarians from all over the Ural federal district as well as from Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, Kirov, Rostov and Orenburg regions, Bashkiria, Tatarstan, Udmurtia and the Republic of Kazakhstan. On June 28th, discussions were held on the trajectories and trends of development for the intercultural dialogue between the peoples of Russia and Kyrgyzstan. On Saturday, July 1st, degrees were awarded to graduates at one of the most prestigious universities of the Ural region and Russia. Thousands of young specialists received degrees on their completion of study at SUSU.

SUSU Postgraduates Receive the First Diplomas

 

A ceremonial awarding of diplomas on the completion of postgraduate studies was held June 29th. Diplomas were awarded to 32 postgraduates, among which were 4 international students.

This year, postgraduates graduated by the federal state academic standard. Earlier, graduates were only given documents about their completion of the candidate exams and a form about completing their postgraduate program.
