The Day of the Programmer is celebrated in Russia on the 256th day of the year, September 13th.
Number 256 was chosen due to the fact that this is an amount of whole numbers which may be expressed by one eight-bit byte, and also this is the maximum power of 2, being less than the number of days in a year – 365. To celebrate this day, a sporting and mass participation event “Championship 100” will be held at SUSU by the Institute of Natural Sciences.

A postgraduate student from “Automobile Transport” Department of the SUSU Polytechnic Institute, Anton Andreev has developed a “smart” thermobox for accumulators. The topic of his research work is “Development of the System of Maintaining of Optimum Operation Conditions for Energy Accumulators Working in Severe Climates”.
At the university there are new elevators put into operation, Olympia's gym for group programs renewed, and two new laboratories opened.
A series of new openings started with putting into operation an elevator for people with limited mobility at the production and laboratory building of SUSU. Rector of the university Alexander Shestakov was the first one to check its operation.
Last week, SUSU Rector Alexander Shestakov officially presented the University’s new brand platform to teachers and staff. The centerpiece of this presentation was a fantastic laser show, which did not leave a single person in the conference hall unimpressed. The new SUSU logo as a symbol of the university uniting Europe and Asia, was accepted by the students and staff with emotion and positivity, and some of them were brought to tears from admiration and pride for their alma mater.
