SUSU Presents Results of the Activity of Its Advanced Engineering School at the Federal Level

Today, the "Heart of the Urals" Advanced Engineering School of South Ural State University has presented its 2025 results as part of the "Advanced Engineering Schools" federal project. The reports have been evaluated by a council chaired by Valery Falkov, Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation.

The university delegation included the SUSU Rector Alexander Wagner, Director of the Advanced Engineering School Sergey Taran, General Director of Automobile Plant Ural Pavel Yakovlev, Director of DST-Ural company Evgeny Gorely, and First Deputy General Director of NPO Kurganpribor company Sergey Kislenko.

In 2025, the Advanced Engineering School launched five new educational programmes, including a Master's degree in Engineering Management. DST-Ural company, a leading manufacturer of specialized equipment, became one of its industrial partners. Network collaboration in the educational process was expanded with other universities (Donetsk State Technical University, North-Eastern Federal University, Moscow Polytechnic University, and Donetsk State Technical University), including in new territories and the Union State of Belarus (Belarusian-Russian University).

The Laboratory for Intelligent Systems and Municipal Equipment for a Smart Eco-City was established at AO Kurgandormash, and an Experimental Laboratory for Intelligent Control Systems for Special-purpose Machinery started functioning at the SUSU Branch in Miass, with the participation of an industrial partner.

Key products of the year included a digital model and software tools for end-to-end digital modelling of power plants, a dynamic chassis model, and a line of transfer cases for URAL all-terrain vehicles. The UKME-1500 and MTsME-5000 electric machines were also tested and prepared for series production at AO Kurgandormash.

"I would like to thank our industrial partners— Automobile Plant Ural, Kurgan Road Machinery Plant, Ural Diesel Engine Plant, DST-Ural company, as well as Uralvagonzavod Research and Production Corporation, including ChTZ-URALTRAK, Ural Design Bureau of Transport Engineering, and the Elektromashina Scientific Production Association —for their active participation in scientific and technological projects, joint training of engineering personnel, and their contribution to strengthening ties between academia and industry," noted Rector Alexander Wagner. "Special thanks go to the Chelyabinsk Region Governor Alexey Texler for his support, which enabled the development of the "Heart of the Urals" Advanced Engineering School project."

In 2026, the Advanced Engineering School plans to expand its network of industrial partners and engage specialists from these companies in engineering education, develop new technological solutions for businesses, and increase the student body through network programs and career guidance for schoolchildren.
