The Festival of the Peoples of the World, in which both international students and creative teams of our city took part, was held at the Assembly Hall of South Ural State University on December 3rd.
Deputy Vice-Rector for Education Andrey Kocherov gave a welcome speech:
“I am happy to welcome you at our university. We are proud that so many international citizens choose SUSU. People of more than 100 different nationalities live in our region, and we believe that a culture of communication is the foundation of mutual understanding”.

Students from different parts of the world, each demonstrating their unique culture and traditional art, participated in the festival. Students from China, India, Sri Lanka, and Pakistan charmed the audience with songs in their native languages, showing the depth and beauty of their national melodies. Participants representing Mongolia, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, and Georgia amazed the audience with their folk dances, demonstrating the energy and grace of traditional movements. The program wrapped up with a stunning performance by a student from Turkmenistan, expressively reciting a touching poem in his native language.

Students admired the performances, applauding loudly and expressing sincere admiration. The atmosphere was filled with goodwill and mutual support, creating the feeling of a large, close-knit family where boundaries are erased in the face of art and a genuine interest in other peoples.

“I was the first to represent Armenia at this event. This country is a part of me; I performed a song in Armenian. Events like these are important because they bring students together and introduce them to different cultures through melody and dance”, – said festival participant and SUSU student Lilit Grigoryan.

The festival became a true celebration of creativity and cultural exchange, uniting everyone in a spirit of friendship and respect.
