Students of the Digital Ural Centre Are Prize-winners in the Hackathon on Information Security

The “Volatiles” team from the SUSU Digital Ural Centre for Training Top IT Specialists have won silver medals in a Hackathon on Information Security held as part of the “gIBChe” Conference. The contest brought together top competitors from across the Ural Federal District, and our students came off second best.

The Hackathon was organized with the support from the “Centre for Digital Technology Development for the Chelyabinsk Region” Autonomous Non-Commercial Organization and OOO “Alpiks” Information Security Systems”. Participants had been offered a real-world case study, the goal of which had been to develop a tool for assessing the security of an information system using modern solutions. They had had only 48 hours to complete the task.

At the contest, our university was represented by the “Volatiles” team that consisted of third-year students of the Department of Information Security of the Digital Ural Centre for Training Top IT Specialists: Daniil Latyshev, Aleksandr Levchishin, Maksim Postnikov, and Karina Khmeleva.

Despite the tight deadline and intense competition, our team successfully completed their task. During their project defences, the students demonstrated deep knowledge, creative approach to solutions, and excellent teamwork skills.

Certificates of participation and a cash prize were presented to our students by Deputy Governor of the Chelyabinsk Region Aleksandr Kozlov and General Director of “ALPIKS Information Security Systems” company Andrey Savenko.

Our congratulations to the students on their well-deserved award, and we wish them further success!
