The Institute of Linguistics and International Communications jointly with Kazan Federal University will hold the All-Russian Dictation Quiz on Foreign Languages. It will simultaneously take place in more than 500 organizations of general, secondary vocational and higher education. All those willing are welcome to participate.
In 2024, among the Dictation Quiz participants were more than 34000 students from 67 regions of Russia, as well as from Belarus, Argentine, Cuba, Turkey, Germany, Egypt, Hungary, and Uzbekistan.
The Dictation Quiz will be held for the tenth time, at the initiative of the Institute of International Relations, History and Oriental Studies of Kazan Federal University jointly with the Youth Policy Office of the same university. The main goals of this event are: the motivation of students to learn foreign languages, and improvement of the literacy and the level of proficiency in the norms of foreign languages. This year, the text for the Dictation Quiz will be prepared in three languages at SUSU: in English, French and Spanish.
The text of 300-400 words (14-22 sentences) will be offered, and the quiz will last about 30 minutes. Participants will be banned from using reference materials, written notes, or other means of information storage and transmission.
The results will be announced after December 7th on the website of Kazan Federal University and on the official websites of the organizations acting as the venues for this project. The victors and prize-winners will be awarded electronic certificates, and all other participants – electronic certificates of participation.
In 2025, the Dictation Quiz will become an important part of celebrating the 80th Anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The text will be based on the personal memories about the war time and post-war time of an outstanding alumnus and professor of Kazan Federal University. The text for the Dictation Quiz is prepared by the teaching staff of the Institute of International Relations, History and Oriental Studies of Kazan Federal University.
