SUSU International Students Win the 2nd Place in an Interuniversity Quiz

On October 15th, a quiz on “South Urals: Learn about the Land Where You Live” was held at the Russia – My History historical multimedia park. Five teams of 10 people each from different universities of Chelyabinsk took part in this game. South Ural State University was represented by students of the Department of Russian as a Foreign Language of the Institute of Linguistics and International Communications.

The quiz covered the topics on the history and nature of the Ural region. Students were offered to answer fascinating questions and solve creative tasks. This event helped international students to learn more about the region where they live and study, and also to become part of a big and united student team.

“It was an interesting quiz, and we liked it very much. All the teams were great. If more of such competitions are planned to be organized, we would love to participate. I’d like to thank our “Mistresses of the Copper Mountain” team for their participation and for the high place we’ve won,” shared the SUSU team captain Sona Baigeldieva.

According to the results of the competition, the team from South Ural State University won the 2nd place.

“We truly enjoyed this event. It was fun. There were some difficult tasks. For example, the 4th round was a music contest, and we had to guess in what language a song was sung. Most of all, I liked the contest with photos, it was interesting to participate in that round: photos were displayed on screen (like that of dumplings, some white house, or the Eiffel Tower), and we had to correlate each image to a coat of arms of a municipality in the Chelyabinsk Region. Good for us that we had learned all the coats of arms of the cities and districts of the Chelyabinsk Region,” noted Ailar Allaberdieva.

Each participant of the competition was awarded souvenir gifts. Our congratulations to our students, and we wish you new victories!
