On October 10th, a gala show of the SUSU Talent 2025 festival was held in the Assembly Hall of South Ural State University. Among the performers were the contest winners from various categories. The SUSU Talent 2025 festival is not only a traditional event that helps identify talented first-year students, but it is also a great opportunity for students to begin their career in creativity.
Vice-Rector for Student and Social Affairs Anastasiia Lapo offered the welcome speech:
“The main goal of our university is to uncover your potential. Today, wrapping up the contest days, we can see for ourselves how talented you are. Each student reveals his or her talent in a unique way: some people dance, others master the art of declamation, or sing songs. I strongly believe that this festival will become the first stage of your long path in creativity that will lead you to success in the regional, country-wise or global level. Many fascinating and important things await you ahead!”
The jury unanimously decided on a pleasant surprise: performance by one of the participants had made such a strong impression on the audience that it was decided to award this student with a special prize. The grand prix of the SUSU Talent 2025 festival was awarded to the first-year student of the Institute of Media, Social Sciences and Humanities Sofya Mayorova, whose performance had managed to win the hearts of both the audience and the jury.
“Today I’ve been singing a folk song Ranym rano (In the Early Hours of the Morning) and have won a grand prix. The atmosphere was incredibly warm and friendly, and it was a pleasant surprise to see such a big audience. This contest has become one of the best in my practice of performing,” shared SUSU student Sofya Mayorova.
Also, the audience and jury were truly mesmerized by the performance by an international student from China, Zhang Jingwei Hao, who sang a popular Russian song Luch solntsa zolotogo (Ray of Golden Sun) in Russian.
“I really like Russia and this university, too. Today, I have participated in this festival, and it is a very important step for me. I was singing this song because I like Russian music very much!” said SUSU student Zhang Jingwei Hao.
All the awards and certificates are well deserved by the event’s participants. Our congratulations to our students, and we wish you further success in creativity contests at city-wise, regional and federal level!
The festival is organized by the SUSU Recreation Centre.
