Tushar Madhukar Sonar, Senior Research Fellow at the Department of Welding Equipment and Technology at the Institute of Engineering and Technology of South Ural State University, has been ranked among the TOP 2% of world scientists in 2025.
The TOP 2% ranking is conducted annually by Stanford University and the Elsevier international academic publishing company.
Hundreds of thousands of scientists are regularly included in the ranking, categorized across and 175 subtopics in 22 areas. The selection of scientists is based on the number of publications, their publication activity in the current year, their Hirsch index, and other scientometric indicators.
Tushar Sonar has been working at SUSU for several years now. He conducts research in metallurgy and innovative composite materials technologies. His works are frequently published in journals ranked in the first and second quartiles of Scopus. At least nine of his papers have been cited at least nine times each in scientific publications.
Tushar Sonar speaks several foreign languages: English, Hindi, Marathi and Sanskrit.
