Delegation from Zhengzhou University of Aeronautics paid an official visit to South Ural State University. This meeting with our colleagues from China opens up new prospects for joint projects in the fields of scientific research and training of specialists.
SUSU and ZUA are long-time partners. South Ural College, where students learn IT and engineering, had been created at this Chinese university jointly with SUSU.
At the meeting, SUSU was represented by the SUSU Vice-Rector for Education Marina Potapova, Director of the School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science Aleksandr Gollai, Director of the Institute of Natural Sciences and Mathematics Alena Zamyshlyaeva, Head of the Research and Innovation Services Leonid Shipulin, and Head of the International Office Liudmila Lapina.
Representatives of the Chinese university included Vice-Rector Li Zefeng, Director of the Information Management Institute Li Weichao, and Director of the Automation Engineering Institute Wang Zhen.
"We are happy to welcome the delegation from Zhengzhou University of Aeronautics at South Ural State University! Today, we have tried to introduce our university to our colleagues within this short period of time available. This meeting has allowed the directors of related institutes of our universities to discuss the current initiatives and plan the tracks for further collaboration," SUSU Vice-Rector for Education Marina Potapova greeted our colleagues from the Chinese university.
As part of the meeting, the SUSU representatives shared about the university projects in the field of artificial intelligence, as well as about promising scientific developments. Members of the Chinese university delegation made several proposals of collaboration with SUSU.
"SUSU has a rich and deep history. Over this period of time, the university has trained a multitude of outstanding specialists, and its main task is to provide students with knowledge that can help them achieve great success. Our visit is motivated by our wish to deepen our cooperation not only in training talented specialists, but also in research collaborations. For instance, we would like to create a joint laboratory and also invite the best specialists. Since the moment of opening of the South Ural College, we have achieved very good results. We feel confident that together we can build a very strong foundation for our further cooperation," shared Vice-Rector of Zhengzhou University of Aeronautics Li Zefeng.
The Chinese university delegation was also offered a tour to the Supercomputer Simulation Laboratory.
In June, the SUSU Vice-Rector for Education Marina Potapova had awarded diplomas to graduates of Zhengzhou University of Aeronautics. The total of 254 students graduated for the first time under the joint academic programme being implemented in a network format.
