South Ural State University (SUSU) welcomed its 2,000th applicant – Dmitry Ivanov, who chose a program at the Institute of Engineering and Technology. The milestone applicant was congratulated by Hero of Russia and cosmonaut Dmitry Petelin, a graduate of the university.
The ceremonial meeting took place in SUSU’s main building, where Dmitry Petelin personally presented with commemorative gifts featuring the university’s insignia.
“You’ve chosen the right path. I hope you to carry on this way, ahead of you are exciting years of student life filled with new experiences, interesting people, and valuable knowledge. I wish you to walk this path with dignity and achieve success,” said Dmitry Petelin to the future student.
The 2,000th applicant, Dmitry Ivanov from Chelyabinsk, applied for the "Rocket Engine Design" program.
“I’ve heard great things about SUSU and attended several open house events – I liked everything, the prospects are promising. The university has advanced equipment and strong industry connections, which is why I chose it. I’ve been passionate about this field my whole life, so I decided to apply here,” shared Dmitry.
His mother, Maria Ivanova, couldn’t hide her emotions:
“I believe SUSU is an outstanding university that offers great opportunities. After consulting with specialists at the advisory center and speaking with faculty, we settled on this program. I’m incredibly proud of my son and look forward to new discoveries and opportunities during his studies.”
The future student was also greeted by Yulia Bolotina, Head of the Department for Strategic Applicant Relations:
“Our 2,000th applicant has chosen a field related to rocket engineering. Currently, we’re seeing a growing trend in applications for technical programs. Starting next week, we expect the main wave of applicants.”
