Enterprises Choose SUSU Graduates: Everything about Targeted Training

Getting a job immediately after graduating from the university, having stable salary and state-funded places. Sounds like a fairy tale? This is the reality for those who took part in the targeted training programme.

What is a targeted training (under a quota)?

Targeted training is training in higher education programmes at the expense of the federal budget in the interests of the customer (government body or municipal administration, enterprise or organization). Targeted training is conducted on the basis of an agreement with the customer who is interested in training students in a specific area of training or speciality and their subsequent employment.

How many targeted places does SUSU offer, and what enterprises are in the list?

In total, our university provides 487 targeted places, out of which 241 are assigned to specific enterprises. The list of enterprises is extensive and includes Chelyabinsk Forge-and-Press Plant, Chelyabinsk Pipe-Rolling Plant, PAO Rosseti, Academician V.P. Makeyev State Rocket Centre, Oktyabr Production Association, Elektromashina Scientific Production Association, and many more.

Who can enrol in targeted training?

You can become a student of targeted training not only in Bachelor’s degree programmes, but also in Specialist, Master’s degree and postgraduate programmes.

Main advantages of targeted training:

  • Mastering a profession according to educational programmes, in the development of which employer organizations directly participated;
  • Practice-oriented approach to training ‑ direct assistance from the employer during studies, collecting the necessary information for course papers/projects, essays for practice, scientific publications and, of course, a diploma theses;
  • Guaranteed employment after graduation (with at least three years of work from the date of starting);
  • Opportunity to combine training and an internship at the customer’s enterprise. Some of these provide an opportunity to work during studies (in senior years) on a flexible schedule;
  • Other additional support measures from the employer during studies at the university: scholarship, payment of living expenses, etc.

How to submit an application for target programmes?

  • Review the offers of customers on the Unified Digital Platform in the Sphere of Employment and Labour Relations “Work in Russia” (“Работа в России”) (since June 20th);
  • Choose the offer that suits your wishes best;
  • Prepare an application for signing an agreement on targeted training in accordance with the selected offer under the form;
  • Submit the application to the SUSU Admissions Committee simultaneously with the application for admission to study in the period from June 20th to July 25th by one of the options:

1st option: via the Unified Portal of State and Municipal Services (ЕПГУ) in electronic form (customer offers on ЕПГУ will also be available for review);

2nd option: personally visit the SUSU Admissions Committee.

  1. Read about the customers of targeted training on the university website via this link
  2. Find out the information on the employer’s website about career guidance events, participation in which will allow you to get 5 points in addition to the Unified State Exam result
  3. Attend the counselling centre of the Central Admissions Committee (Room 224, 225, 76 Lenin Prospekt) on April 19th and April 27th at 10:00
