"Heart of the Urals" Advanced Engineering School Presented Educational Initiatives at the Meeting on Developing Cooperation between Regions in the Yaroslavl Region

As part of the development of interregional cooperation, the Chelyabinsk branch of the Russian Engineering Union, together with the Ministry of Industry and the Ministry of International and Interregional Cooperation of the Chelyabinsk Region, organized a visit of South Ural industrialists to the leading enterprise of the industry in the Yaroslavl Region: PAO Avtodizel (Yaroslavl Motor Plant). Director of the "Heart of the Urals" Advanced Engineering School Sergey Taran, Director of the Mechanical Engineering Research Institute Ramil Zakirov, and Deputy Director for Research and Development of the Heart of the "Heart of the Urals" Advanced Engineering School Igor Levanov were members of the delegation from the "Heart of the Urals" Advanced Engineering School of Engine Building and Special Equipment.

The delegation participants learned about cutting-edge production processes at the enterprise, noting the high level of production organization and the quality of the products. Innovative solutions used at the plant in the manufacture of engines and key components caught their special attention.

The parties discussed the possibilities of joint projects, exchange of experience and technology, as well as potential areas for further cooperation. During the negotiations, Sergey Taran spoke at the "Development of Cooperation Ties between the Yaroslavl and Chelyabinsk Regions" round table with a report on the activities of the SUSU "Heart of the Urals" Advanced Engineering School. In his speech, he in detail described the key educational projects of the school, aimed at training highly qualified personnel for the mechanical engineering industry. Special attention was paid to the development of interregional cooperation in the field of supplementary professional education and academic exchange.

“Our school implements a unique model of training engineering personnel, integrating the educational process with real production tasks. In partnership with leading industrial enterprises of the Urals, we create conditions when first-year students are involved in solving current technological challenges. This approach allows us to train specialists who are capable of contributing to the development of the Russian mechanical engineering immediately after graduation,” noted Sergey Taran, Director of the "Heart of the Urals" Advanced Engineering School.

As part of strengthening the educational partnership, a working meeting between representatives of the "Heart of the Urals" Advanced Engineering School and leadership of Yaroslavl State Technical University (YSTU) was held. The prospects for cooperation in the implementation of joint educational projects and networking programs were discussed. Following the meeting, preliminary agreements on organizing internships for students at the production sites of partner enterprises in both regions and developing advanced training programs for the teaching staff were reached.

The implementation of the “Advanced Engineering Schools” project had taken place within the frameworks of the “Scientific and Technological Development of the Russian Federation” state program from 2022 to 2024. Since 2025, the continuity of the activities of the “Advanced Engineering Schools” project has been ensured by including them in the “Universities for a Generation of Leaders” federal project of the “Youth and Children” national project.
