During his speech addressed to the deputies of the Legislative Assembly of the Chelyabinsk Region, Alexey Texler paid special attention to achievements in the field of education. Thus, the Governor spoke about the beginning of the decisive stage of construction of the world-class inter-university campus (completion of construction is expected in 2027), the opening of youth research laboratories and joint high-tech faculties with leading industry representatives (Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Technology together with KONAR Industrial Group; and Faculty of Mechatronics and Robotics together with PAO Chelyabinsk Forge-and-Press Plant).
“We are creating a new innovative environment for our schools. Today, we are already developing the concept of an advanced, flagship school of federal level for the comprehensive development of talented youth. Thus, in fact, we are creating an attractive environment for gifted students at all levels of education in the Chelyabinsk Region,” said Alexey Texler.
South Ural State University is actively involved in the creation and development of the system of the Governor’s engineering classes, opening specialized classes in our region’s schools jointly with industrial partners. Already in September, engineering classes in schools of Chelyabinsk, Miass and Chebarkul, opened jointly with Automobile Plant URAL within the framework of a grant from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, will welcome their first students. The accumulated experience and competencies will allow the university to support the initiatives of the regional government in terms of fulfilling the instructions of the President of Russia and creating a flagship school of federal level.
Among the achievements of our region in the IT sphere, the opening of School 21 by SBER, the campus of which is located on the territory of South Ural State University, was noted. Literally the other day, the fifth enrolment of students began training there.
“Our university traditionally stands at the forefront of technological development of our region and our country. We are sincerely grateful to Alexey Texler and the Government of the Chelyabinsk Region for the high level of trust shown in the implementation of strategic regional projects in the field of education and science,” shared Rector Alexander Wagner. “We have many plans ahead, ambitious goals have been set and there is a clear understanding of how we will achieve them.”
Following his speech, the Governor will give instructions to the relevant departments to continue work on the implementation of strategic projects in the development of Chelyabinsk and our region as a whole.
