The opening ceremony of a new educational intensive course took place at School 21 of South Ural State University. The event was attended by the SUSU Rector Alexander Wagner, Deputy Minister of Information Technology, Communications and Digital Development of the Chelyabinsk Region Ekaterina Davydova, and the manager of the Chelyabinsk branch of Sber Andrey Ruchai.
School 21 trains specialists in IT and digital technologies. Participants will be able to master relevant skills in programming, working with big data and cybersecurity. The intensive course is one of the stages of selection of participants for the main training.
"I am happy to congratulate you on your decision to try yourself in this field. The IT sphere is constantly developing, and you will definitely learn a lot of useful and interesting things. May you succeed, all the tasks will be within your power, I am sure that you will not only acquire new skills, but also meet like-minded people," Ekaterina Davydova, Deputy Minister of Information Technology, Communications and Digital Development of the Chelyabinsk Region, greeted the participants.
Rector of South Ural State University Alexander Wagner emphasized the key role of students’ motivation and determination in the educational process:
"I wish you good luck in this difficult month that lies ahead of you, may it pass for you as easily and interestingly as possible. I am sure that our team will do everything necessary to make it comfortable for you to complete the tasks. The system will require from you, first of all, dedication and maximum involvement, and if you correctly build the schedule of this month, then everything will definitely work out!"
"School 21" is a project created with the support of Sber, offering free programming training using the innovative "peer to peer" method. The school provides any candidate over 18 years of age who has successfully passed the selection stages with the opportunity to master a popular IT specialty for free. All graduates successfully occupy positions in the largest Russian IT companies and various startups. One of those who has already completed the basic training is Andrey Ruchai, manager of the Chelyabinsk branch of Sber:
"Our region is very lucky to have such a wonderful project that allows us to increase your value as future employees in the labour market. The best investment is the investment in yourself, and I believe that you are a shining example of this approach. I am sure that you will succeed. Forward to success!"
To date, about one thousand specialists have graduated from School 21. The new intensive course has a special significance – it is the fifth anniversary programme.
"Our campus was created in Chelyabinsk at the premises of SUSU thanks to the joint work of key partners: the regional government with the personal support of Governor Alexey Texler, the university management headed by Rector Alexander Wagner and the Sber Company. This is a unique project for Russia − similar educational centres exist only in a few regions of our country, which makes the Chelyabinsk campus a special opportunity for training IT specialists," noted Dmitry Kozlenkov, Director of School 21.
The intensive course participants have already started to do their first tasks, and the best of them will undergo basic training at School 21.
