Students of the Institute of Architecture and Construction Take Part in the Construction 2025 Ural Exhibition and Forum

Chelyabinsk has hosted the Construction 2025 Ural Exhibition and Forum, where students and Master's degree students from Russia, China, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, and Angola have participated. Also, member of the teaching staff and Associate Professor of the Department of Architecture of South Ural State University Vyacheslav Yudin has presented low-rise residential buildings made of "composite timber strips".

At this exhibition, SUSU presented projects of quickly erectable low-rise residential buildings made of prefabricated timber modules using the "composite timber strips" commercial prototypes as per technology created by Vyacheslav Yudin.

"Timber modules have a framework structure. They consist of plywood walls 40 millimetres thick, and the internal chamber is filled with foamed polyurethane heat insulator. The modules' idea is that they are delivered to the construction site already in a ready-to-use form, and all that remains is to assemble them. A building with the area of 15-20 square metres can be assembled within just one day," shared Vyacheslav Yudin.

The opening ceremony of the forum was attended by Deputy Governor of the Chelyabinsk Region Andrey Faleychik. He showed great interest while asking about the properties and structure of the timber modules and suggested to build an experimental house for further study and discussion.
