On January 29th at 19:00, in anticipation of the celebration of the New Year according to the Chinese calendar, the facade of the main building of South Ural State University will be decorated with the hieroglyph "Snake (shé)".
The idea was proposed by Chinese students as part of the traditional ceremony of the Students Day, when the Rector grants some of the most interesting and significant wishes of young people.
The glowing symbol of the New Year is not only a message for all the Chinese living in Chelyabinsk, but also an attempt to share part of the ancient culture with all the citizens and guests of the South Ural capital.
In order to develop Russian-Chinese relations and expand bilateral ties in culture, the Russian President Vladimir Putin declared the period of 2024-2025 to be the Years of Culture of Russia and China. China is one of the key areas of international cooperation for the Chelyabinsk Region, and strengthening partnership relations with the People's Republic of China is one of the strategic tasks of our region.
At 18:00 in the foyer on the 4th floor of the main academic building there will be a flash mob dedicated to the friendship between Russia and China, where foreign students will sing Chinese folk songs, read congratulations, poems, and also compete in creative contests with their Russian colleagues.
We invite everyone to enjoy the celebration of the Chinese New Year together.
