Interview summary:
The Science and Universities national project is wrapping up this year. Its goals have been achieved. The work on involving young people into science has been actively conducted and will continue. A large number of programs and projects on creating a close connection among universities, research institutes and enterprises of the real sector of the economy will continue in new national projects.
Thus, the project on creating advanced engineering schools has been in effect for 3 years. Today, businesses are asking for it to be extended, and thanks to the support of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin, new engineering schools will continue to open. There are currently 50 of them, and the number will double by 2030.
The number of state-funded places for training engineering and technical personnel for 2025 will remain as high as the year before, and will even slightly increase. Next year, applicants will be able to apply for 248.5 thousand places.
We managed to increase the number of young scientists. The opening of 940 youth laboratories in Russia was among the effective tools for achieving that. By 2030, another 800 youth laboratories will be opened.
The instrument base in leading scientific institutes and universities of our country has been upgraded by more than 50%. It is important to note that 40% of new equipment is produced in Russia.
In the outgoing year, a lot of work has been conducted and will continue to be done on updating the entire system of higher education. Among the principles that will be laid down in it are the strengthening of the fundamental principles and high-quality orientation towards practice.
In a short time, a modern campus of Bauman Moscow State Technical University was built. New campus facilities are already fully used for educational and research work. The goal is set to build 25 new campuses by 2030.
