The scientific team of the Institute of Media, Social Sciences and Humanities (IMSSH) acted as experts at the round table on the “Issues of Ethno-Confessional Security in the Regional Education System: Scientific Understanding and Practical Approaches.”
The event took place within the frameworks of the Decade of Science and Technology in the Russian Federation. The organizer is the Research Centre for Monitoring and Prevention of Destructive Manifestations in the Educational Environment of the City of Chelyabinsk.
The round table was moderated by Aleksandr Seliutin, Candidate of Sciences (Philology), Head of the Sector for the Development of Programs for Sociocultural Adaptation and Integration of Foreign Students and Children with Foreign Languages at the Research Centre for Monitoring and Prevention of Destructive Manifestations in the Educational Environment of the Chelyabinsk Institute of the Professional Education Development.
The round table was attended by Elena Salganova, Candidate of Sciences (Sociology), Associate Professor at the Department of Sociology at the IMSSH; Andrey Avdashkin, Candidate of Sciences (History), Senior Researcher at the SUSU Research Laboratory of Migration Studies; Sergey Bredikhin, Candidate of Sciences (Philosophy), Associate Professor at the Department of Sociology of the SUSU IMSSH, Head of the Monitoring and Analysis Sector of the Research Centre for Monitoring and Prevention of Destructive Manifestations in the Educational Environment of the Chelyabinsk Institute of the Professional Education Development.
The round table format included three key reports and active discussion by experts of issues of ethno-confessional security in the regional education system.
During the round table, Sergey Bredikhin presented a report on the topic of the "Efficient Methods of Intercultural Communication in the Multicultural Educational Environment of the Chelyabinsk Region", and Andrey Avdashkin's report was aimed at presenting the results of the analysis of the mechanisms of social and cultural integration of the Roma people living in the Chelyabinsk Region. In addition, the research team presented some results of the project No. 23-28-10211 carried out with the financial support of the Russian Science Foundation.
