On November 16, 2023, the Consul General of the Republic of Tajikistan in the city of Yekaterinburg, Zafar Sayidzoda, took part online in a solemn event that was held at South Ural State University on the occasion of the President's Day in the Republic of Tajikistan and in honour of the 31st anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Russian Federation.
Students, military cadets, athletes, teachers, scientists of the city of Chelyabinsk, and representatives of the South Urals political elite attended the event. Among them were Deputy Chairman of the Public Chamber of the Chelyabinsk Region Evgenii Andreev, SUSU Deputy Vice-Rector for Education Andrey Kocherov, senior lecturer at the SUSU Department of Physical Education and Health Aleksei Shakhovskii, Head of a group of Tajik cadets from a branch of the Russian Air Force Military Educational and Scientific Centre in the City of Chelyabinsk Bobojon Latipov.
As part of the event, athletes native to Tajikistan were awarded for their sporting merits, victories and achievements.
The online speech of the Consul General of the Republic of Tajikistan on the recent history, state and prospects of Tajik-Russian cooperation and strategic partnership, on the significant positive role of Russia in the establishment of the Republic of Tajikistan as a sovereign independent state and ensuring regional security aroused great interest among the participants.
Let us note that the event was organized by the leadership of South Ural State University and the Chelyabinsk Regional Public Organization Istiklol ('Independence') Tajik National Cultural Centre.
