Senior lecturer of the SUSU Department of Civil Law and Civil Legal Procedures Gennady Mulyarchik gave a talk at the Scientific Library of the Chelyabinsk Region on the latest changes in the federal law “On the State Language of the Russian Federation”.
The event was organized within the framework of the Public Lectures in the Library project. Gennady Mulyarchik, based on his experience as a lawyer, spoke on the changes in the federal law and answered questions regarding the use of foreign words in the work of government and educational institutions.
“Holding such lectures is of use because it allows to dispel fears and misunderstanding regarding the possibility of using foreign words, which have been forming among our population for six months now since the adoption of the Federal Law 52-ФЗ “On the State Language of the Russian Federation” as of February 28, 2023” said Gennadiy Mulyarchik.
The lecture marked International Literacy Day, which was established in 1965 after holding the Iranian conference, the main topic of which was the elimination of illiteracy. The event brought together representatives from different countries to cope with a common problem. At the end of the discussion, it was decided to reduce the number of illiterate people by creating accessible sites for receiving education even in the most remote corners of the planet. International Literacy Day is celebrated in many countries around the world, including Russia, on September 8th.
Scientific Library of the Chelyabinsk Region is fruitfully collaborating with the SUSU Institute of Law. This spring, an open lecture on the topic of Digital Law: Theory and Practice has been held where SUSU scientists spoke on the implementation of a research project on the use of digital technologies to solve legal problems.
