SUSU English-Taught HR Management Program Gives Students a Boost

The School of Economics and Management (Department of Management) at South Ural State University has introduced a new Master’s program Human Resources Management taught in English which trains specialists with new skills and knowledge. 

Every year the profession of an HR manager becomes more and more popular and prestigious. The level of skills required from a specialist in this area is increasing as an experienced HR manager is responsible not only for HR management, but also for managing company’s human resources and developing systems for staff training and motivation.

 

Nowadays there is competition for skilled and highly skilled HR professionals in the world labor market. We note that international students are interested in entering English-taught HR management educational programs. A number of Russian universities have similar programs, for example, Higher School of Economics (National Research University) and Ural Federal University. Thus, having analyzed the global experience of training specialists in the field, the competitive offer of Russian universities and the requests of students, we have launched this educational program,” explains Alyona Levina (Ph.D., Associate Professor), the Head of the Department of Management.

The aim of the Program is to train Masters in the field of Human Resources Management. The students will examine questions connected with labour market development, recruitment, motivation and staff development, organization development policy, budgeting for staff costs and process and paperwork administration, building and development of a company's corporate culture.

A special feature of this program is that it is taught in English. So the applicants need to have Intermediate level (B1) of the English language. In a multicultural learning environment students from different countries have all the opportunities for quick and effective professional development.

  • Modern Recruiting Technologies
  • Assessment of Labor and HR Management Efficiency

Nowadays cooperation with universities around the world is a great advantage for students as new approaches in methodology can be in the process of teaching. The development of cooperation, the introduction of various programs and systems of ensuring the quality of education change the atmosphere of studying and give students good scientific basis and intensive practical skills. So after graduation they can strongly compete in the labor market to get a prestigious job.

There are some partners of the Department and the interaction and joint projects with them will become the distinct advantage of the program. One of the department’s partners is the Mount St. Mary’s University (Maryland, USA).

While studying under the program, Masters will take an active part in research work, grant programs and competitions. Interaction with business entrepreneurships (inviting experts to read lectures, organising master-classes, solving real to life tasks and problems that enterprises face) make the program unique and forward-looking.  

As a part of the educational process students have the opportunity to get trained in partner enterprises to apply their theoretical knowledge in practical activities and acquire deep professional skills.

The program got professional expertise from specialists in the field of labour economics and human resource management. They highly appreciated the potential of the program in terms of the subjects taught and the competencies acquired by future students during the course.

Masters having graduated from the Program will be able to work in the departments of international companies, state enterprises, ministries and departments related to the regulation of human resources management and labour market policies.
