75th Student Conference Held at the Department of Sociology of the Institute of Media, Social Sciences and Humanities

Every year, at the conference being organized by the Institute of Media, Social Sciences and Humanities, Sociology students of all years of study present the findings of their scientific work over the past year and share the results of their theoretical and empirical research.

In the course of the conference, students and teaching staff members have considered such topics as: problems of the Russian economy and entrepreneurship; technology of chat bots as an aspect of everyday life; issues of the social policy and volunteering; occupational socialization and adaptation; and many others.

Candidate of Sciences (Social Sciences), Head of the Department Elena Salganova, Candidate of Sciences (Cultural Studies), Associate Professor Liudmila Belova and Candidate of Sciences (Social Sciences), Associate Professor Sergei Odiakov acted as the conference moderators. Students of the 1st year of studies presented the results of their theoretical research.

The conference was held in the format of a discussion, and the participants could ask reporters questions. Practically all topics sparked heated discussion among students and teaching staff. The reports demonstrated good theoretical background of students in terms of their research work. Sociology students showed their deep knowledge of the material, all-round erudition, knowledge of the logical-and-conceptual framework, of the fundamentals of policy, economy, as well as of the methodology of conducting sociological research.

Traditionally, the conference proceedings are published in the Genezis electronic student collected papers, released jointly with the partner of the Department of Sociology – the “National Unity Centre” Municipal Public Institution in the City of Chelyabinsk.
