Students of the Institute of Engineering and Technology Learned about Digital Design-Engineering Work at Enterprises

As part of the course of the Practicum on the Type of Professional Activity, a representative of ASCON-Ural Company Sergei Kartashov has delivered a lecture on the development of Industry 4.0 for the students of the Ammunition and Detonators programme of the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering of the Institute of Engineering and Technology.

Students learned about complex automation of the design-and-production stages of the life cycle of mechanical engineering products, CAD/CAM/CAE/CAPP/PDM software solutions, as well as about the companies which supply such solutions to the Russian and global markets.

Sergei Kartashov shared on how a design is born in a design bureau, how engineering services function further on, and how the production process is organized. He also explained the applicability of programs and digital packages at each stage.

“This has been a truly fascinating lecture. We’ve learned a lot of helpful information about the professional skills and qualities, which an engineer, a specialist of our time must have. The speaker has described the structure of the design-engineering work at an enterprise within the frameworks of modern packages; what it comprises, and what requirements are specified for it,” said student of group П-327 Artem Bakiev.

Students were able to systematize the already obtained knowledge in programs KOMPAS-Grafik, KOMPAS-3D, Vertikal, and others, as well as learn about new software packages: Lotsman, Polinom, FlowVision, and Delta Dezign.
