South Ural State University is one of the biggest Russian multidisciplinary universities with fundamental scientific basis and high standards of specialist training situated in the South Ural. The university is multinational and nowadays is a home for more than 2,500 international students from 58 countries who pay great attention to their studies.

Main Building of the University and the Park
The main building of South Ural State University is one of the most distinctive Chelyabinsk landmarks. It is built in the style of the famous Moscow Stalin high-rise apartment blocks which in turn repeated the forms of New York skyscrapers. Two copper figures on the side towers always attract attention as they literally jump off the roof. They are the sculptures of Prometheus carrying the fire of knowledge, and Nike, the winged goddess of victory, with a wreath of fame.

Behind the main building of the university there is Gagarin Park. This is the most beautiful park in Chelyabinsk. Fresh air, thick tree crowns and blue water attract hundreds of people every day. The park is in the city center, but at the same time you feel like you are in the deep forest.
There are lots of ways to spend the free time in the park. Here you can take a slow walk or a bicycle ride, feed squirrels that are not afraid of people, make a crazy turn on the roller coaster or jump on the trampoline. Families can take their children to Gulliver town where there are lots of fairy tales characters and the children’s railway.

The Scientific Library of the South Ural State University was founded in 1943 and is currently the largest university library in the Urals. There are about 2 million printed publications. The library has unique collections, including modern, scientific, educational, domestic and foreign publications, as well as collections of rare books of the XIX-XX centuries. Besides paper resources the library has electronic documents, like books, magazines, newspapers, video and audio materials.
The e-catalog of the SUSU Scientific Library contains bibliographic records of all types of documents that make up the library's collection in Russian and foreign languages: books, periodicals, articles, theses, author's abstracts of texts and full-text electronic documents.
The students of SUSU have the opportunity to read not only scientific books. There are thousands of contemporary and classic books in the Fiction and Art Section. These books ranging from science fiction to the best-selling modern fiction are available to students and employees of South Ural State University. It is always possible to find something rare and unique, even one of a kind.
Recreation Areas
Nowadays the process of education is becoming more and more intense. In order for students to be able to study well they need not only comfortable learning environments (good multimedia classrooms, laboratories, access to a supercomputer), but also comfortable places where they can relax, chat with friends, and do some home assignments.
Student corners (such as at the Faculty of Energy and Power Engineering, the Lighthouse Room at the Building of the Institute of Law, the Winter Garden in the Main Building) should solve this problem - during the breaks between classes or in their spare time they can sit on comfortable sofas and have some rest.
IT Lab
In 2020 the School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science opened a New Research and Education Center modelled on the best IT companies. The center is equipped with modern technologies that allow to develop new skills quickly. There are table-transformers that make brainstorming and individual work fruitful and bright.
The staff of Napoleon IT - one of the leaders in the field of data science, machine learning, computer vision, high-load systems and mobile development in Russia - will coordinate the projects of the center. The company was founded by SUSU graduates and has its subsidiaries in Moscow, Saint Petersburg and the USA.
Sport Facilities
SUSU has a unique sports facility - the Education and Sports Complex - equipped with halls for basketball, volleyball, wrestling, weightlifting, boxing, kickboxing, aerobics, etc.
A 50-meter Olympic-standard swimming pool with 10 lanes is an excellent way to have fun, to get rest after a hard day of study or physical training!
Medical Center
SUSU Medical Center was founded in 1999. The center specializes in outpatient care, treatment of acute and chronic diseases. There are three departments: outpatient, rehabilitation, and urological. Medical personnel consists of highly qualified professionals.
Outpatient department includes a treatment room, where specialists carry out laboratory tests, administer injections and drips; a physiotherapy room where laser therapy, magnetic therapy, CMT therapy, UV therapy, phonophoresis and inhalation are performed. In the rehabilitation department, doctors treat spinal osteochondrosis, children's scoliosis, intervertebral hernia. There are facilities for manual therapy, massage and ozone therapy. Procedures for therapeutic, lymphatic drainage and anti-cellulite massage are available to students and staff. In the urology department, modern methods of diagnosis and treatment are used.
Anyone can get an appointment with a specialist of the center (urologist, a surgeon, an obstetrician-gynecologist, an ultrasound doctor).
