Applications for participation in the "My Country — My Russia" contest has opened in Russia. This is one of the projects within the “Russia Is a Land of Opportunity” presidential platform. The event will be held for the 18th time and will be dedicated to the Year of Science and Technology in Russia, as well as to the 60th Anniversary of the First Human Flight into Space.
The contest aims at attracting the potential of the young generation to solving the burning issues of the social and economic development of Russian villages, cities and regions. In 2021 the contest will be held for two age categories: for young people aged 14-17, as well as for those aged 18-35. The participants will be able to propose cultural, educational, engineering, and social and economic projects. The best initiatives will receive targeted support.
The contest will be held in four stages:
- Stage one will be organized March 1st through May 12th, 2021. During this period the contestants will need to post their projects on the official web-site. Applications for the participation in the contest will be accepted till May 12th, 23:50 Moscow time;
- Stage two will be held May 13th through July 11th. At this stage the projects will undergo an off-site expert review, and participants of the next stage will be announced;
- Stage three begins on July 12th and will be held till September 30th. Participants will be invited to defend their projects in a "hybrid" format (both in-person and online);
- Stage four is the prize awarding, which will be held in December of 2021.
This season the contestants will be able to propose their educational, engineering, and social and economic, and scientific projects in 17 thematic fields.
