The Association of Student Theatres of Russia supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Chelyabinsk Region is holding a STFest Festival-Laboratory of Storytelling Performances at the SUSU Mannequin Theatre Studio.
Storytelling in theatre is a genre of performances where one or more actors tell a story: be it their own retelling of the War and Peace, or a monologue about personal experience. It may be a story about the sky above Austerlitz through Bolkonsky's eyes intertwined with the personal feelings of the narrating actor.
"Storytelling is performances without a fourth wall, with a minimum of scenery, where an actor steps out of a character and becomes just a human," the organizers say. "At the Festival-Laboratory, you will learn from leading storytelling teachers and see finished stories in this genre."
The festival will take place November 28th through December 1st.
Applications are accepted until October 31st.
