SUSU Is Ready to Host the Global Smart Industry Conference

November 17-19, 2020, the 2020 Global Smart Industry Conference is being held at South Ural State University.

The conference is held jointly with the digital industry leader EMERSON Corporation, USA; International Measurement Confederation (IMEKO); International Research and Engineering Society of Instrument Engineers and Metrologists; and the Siberia Section and the South Ural Chapter of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).

"Today, high performance is expected of companies more than ever. Over the years, automation has helped them increase their productivity, production, and profits. I think, now a new era is dawning, when automation is "coming into play" with renewed vigour. The next step in industrial development will be digital transformation, which will improve companies' efficiency qualitatively and quantitatively in the context of increasing production while reducing costs and improving product quality," said the Conference Chairman, President of Emerson Corporation Michael Train.

The conference will bring together digital technology specialists from Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Great Britain, Denmark, Germany, Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan, Vietnam, and Brazil.

Russian and foreign scientists will discuss the main directions in the digital industry. As an outcome of the conference, the collected papers will be published in the IEEE Xplore electronic library indexed in Scopus and Web of Science.

"The purpose of the event is to discuss the achievements of leading universities and research and education centres in the development of innovative models, methods and technologies for the digital industry, and the practices of their implementation in big transnational and domestic companies," explains SUSU Vice-Rector for Informatization, Doctor of Sciences (Physics and Mathematics), Professor Leonid Sokolinskiy.

The upcoming conference will allow to obtain a comprehensive overview of high technologies and imagine the future of various industries. The conference participants will be able to exchange research and technology competencies, think about new subjects of cooperation, and share their vision of digitalization of the industry of the future.
