Students of SUSU School of Economics and Management Piloted Office Process Factory

At the Centre of Business Development Technologies of the School of Economics and Management, a trial launch of the Lean Office Process Factory, developed by the staff of the Centre and the Department of Industrial Economics and Project Management, took place.

The Lean Office Process Factory is developed on the basis of a real business process for the purchase of inventory items. This process has not been chosen by chance, since it occurs in all industrial enterprises and organizations providing services.

The main idea of this process factory is to optimize the company's resources, modernize processes, reduce the flow of materials and unnecessary movements, reduce the waiting time for documents from different specialists, which will reduce the total time of the processes.

The most important step in implementing a lean office is to involve all employees of the company in the process, so the factory includes all links of specialists, from the inventory custodian to the security service of the enterprise and the general director.

The process factory includes the mastering of the process, learning and applying lean tools (mapping, timing, workplace organization, data visualization, standardized work), problem analysis, continuous improvement.

During the game, the students of the School of Economics and Management majoring in Management analyzed the current situation at the enterprise, made a list of problems and bottlenecks, and held a meeting at which they formed a list of measures to further optimize the process.

The Centre of Business Development Technologies conducts training on lean manufacturing in the office, at the enterprise (production processes), as well as on individual tools to increase labour efficiency.
