South Ural State University celebrates Halloween

Students of South Ural State University always take part in celebrating Halloween. Our international students from different schools and institutes make decorations and prepare bright costumes of witches, ghosts, pirates, monsters, skeletons, vampires, and many other creepy characters. Their makeup is very colorful and convincing.

The decorations are usually paper ghosts, paper bats and carved pumpkins (Jack-o’-lantern). They are the most famous symbols for decorating houses and party places.

“We organize Halloween Party annually and our students are very fond of the event, everyone dresses up in their favorite heroes of movies and fairy tales. More and more students join us every year, our volunteers prepare interesting contests, treats, a photo zone and a disco party. It's a great way to get to know new people, meet old friends and have fun together,” said Dina Valeeva, the Center for Sociocultural Adaptation supervisor.

This year CSA organised a horror quest to celebrate Halloween on October 30th. The way of celebration was changed and instead of the annual costume party with contests and a disco all participants were divided into small teams of four people. They got a special map with a list of stations. At each station, the volunteers wearing costumes of the horror films characters offered the contestants to perform a «terrible» assignment, for example, to go into a dark large room and look for a key or to pass an obstacle course blindfolded.

After getting through all the stations the contestants found a scroll with a spell to rid themselves of the evil spell.

This holiday is celebrated in CSA for 4 years and traditionally gathers Russian and international students of South Ural State University.
