SUSU Associate Professor Named as the Best Script Writer at Humane Movies Film Festival

Associate Professor of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Candidate of Sciences (Philology) Anna Krasavina was awarded a winner’s certificate in the category of the Best Script at the Humane Movies film festival for her script to Breath feature short, which premiered at the festival early in April.

“Breathe movie is a social drama about a 16-year-old daughter of a school principal. Trying to break free from the overprotection by her bossy mother, the girl makes mistakes that are very hard to fix,” shared Anna Krasavina. “This is our second joint work with director Firyuza Fedosova. With our first feature short My Exes we participated in such festivals as Budem Zhit! (We Will Live!), Moscow; PiterKiT, Saint Petersburg; Svyataya Anna (Saint Ann), Moscow; as well as it was screened as part of the program of New Russian Cinema at the 40th Moscow International Film Festival.”

A member of the National Association of Mass Media Researchers, Anna Krasavina, besides being a holder of basic degree in Philology, is an alumnus of the Scenario Faculty of VGIK (All-Russian State Institute of Cinematography), speaks English, and is the leading academic teaching specialized disciplines on the theory and practice of television and radio broadcasting. She is a developer of such innovative courses as Fact-checking and Verification; VR Journalism; Multimedia Storytelling, and is a supervisor of the international project on EUfactcheck and of a Master’s programme on Media Communications (in English). At the same time she successfully combines her practical works in mass media: she is the author of the Cinema Playbill rubric at Vesti FM radiobroadcasting company (Chelyabinsk State Television and Radiobroadcasting Company), of the publications in Chelyabinsk journals Lumon and Missiya, as well as on the web-site of director Andrey Zvyagintsev.

The new Breathe feature short is starting its festivals tour, and its authors are beginning their joint work on the script of the next, already full-length feature film. Our congratulations to Anna Krasavina on this victory and we wish her new creative accomplishments!!!
