The SUSU Foreign Students Invite to Taste Various Sorts of Tea from South Asia

On March 7, on the eve of International Women’s Day, a tea ceremony will take place at South Ural State University. Association of International Students and International Office invite everybody to taste different sorts of tea from South Asia.

Almost every country in the world has a tradition of tea drinking with their own peculiarities. On this day, everyone has an opportunity to learn more about the way people drink tea in Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, India, and other South Asian states. Representatives of these countries will tell about their culture in the form of short video presentations and treat the guests with delicious tea prepared in accordance with traditional recipes.

The tea ceremony at SUSU takes place for the second time. Last year, foreign students prepared tea from Sri Lanka, the island, which is known for its plantations and has long been called Ceylon. The organizers plan to hold the event annually and invite more representatives from other countries to participate.

Tea ceremonies at SUSU is a good opportunity for students, academics and administrative staff to learn more on the culture of other countries and enjoy tea flavor. 

The tasting event will take place during the long break between the classes; the beginning is at 13:00.

March 7, at 13:00, Hall on the third floor of the Main Building (Lenin prospekt, 76).
