Mechanical and Technological Faculty Celebrates Its 75th Anniversary

Mechanical and Technological Faculty is one of the two faculties, which South Ural State University originated from. The Faculty was established on December 15, 1943 alongside with the foundation of Chelyabinsk Mechanical Engineering Institute.

The gala assembly of the Faculty academics, administrative staff and students on the occasion of the 75th Anniversary was held at Sigma Education and Recreation Building. The festivities started with a greeting word from Director of the Institute of Engineering and Technology, Doctor of Sciences (Engineering), Professor Sergei Vaulin.

A brief presentation on the Faculty’s evolution made by the event hosts Egor Konstantinov (П-357) and Valeriya Potapova (П-152) helped the audience to reminisce on the history of the Faculty.

Dean of the Faculty, Doctor of Sciences (Engineering), Professor Viktor Guzeev also expressed his congratulations.

The professionalism of the Faculty’s academics and administrative staff has been highly appreciated by the university, the city and regional authorities. More than 60 academics were awarded letters of acknowledgement and certificates.

As part of the celebration of the 75th Anniversary and having taken into account the results of the work done over the year, the departments nominated the students to be awarded on behalf of the Faculty for excellence in studies and big achievements in research, public, sports, or creative activities. Certificates of appreciation were awarded to more than 20 students of the Faculty.

The SUSU Musical Committee (Muzkom) also prepared their congratulations to academics, administrative staff and students of the Mechanical and Technological Faculty. Student of the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Ilya Orlov performed songs on the history of our country.

Several years ago lyrics to the hymn of the Mechanical and Technological Faculty was written by Natalya Buldakova. The celebrations event at the Mechanical and Technological Faculty opened with the university hymn and closed with the hymn of the Faculty. It was performed by a student of group П-258, winner of the City Student Spring 2018 Festival, and laureate of the Ilmeny Song Festival Polina Kovalenya.

The Dean’s Office of the Mechanical and Technological Faculty would like to once again congratulate all the academics, administrative staff and students, and to wish everyone further development and professional self-fulfilment.
