Associate Professor of SUSU Made a Report at the International Conference in Portugal

Associate Professor of Department of Construction Production and Theory of Structures of Institute of Architecture and Construction of SUSU Natalia Degtyareva made a report “Thin-Walled Structures” at the Eighth International Conference (ICTWS 2018) which took place in Lisbon in July 24-27.

The report was devoted to the results of experimental and numerical investigations of strength of light-weight steel thin-walled perforated profiles in the conditions of transverse force local influence. Such profiles are used in the construction and reconstruction of low-rise buildings and facilities and possess improved thermal properties. Investigations were carried out by Associate Professor of Department of Construction Production and Theory of Structures, Candidate of Sciences (Engineering) Natalia Degtyareva, Doctor Keerthan Poologanathan and Professor Mahen Mahendran, representing Queensland University of Technology (Australia).

“The conference was organized perfectly. Scientists from different countries of the world such as Portugal, Australia, Brazil, China, the USA, Great Britain, Canada, Germany and many other countries participated in the conference. I was the only participant from Russia. It was a big honor to report in front of the leading scientists in the sphere of thin-walled structures, listen to their reports and communicate with them,” noted Natalia Degtyareva.

This international conference has been held since 1996 and gathers scientists, teachers and engineers in the sphere of light-weight steel thin-walled structures to discuss the results of the latest investigations.
