The Head of Chelyabinsk Rewarded International Students of SUSU for Participation in Mini-Football Tournament

On Russia Day, the 12th of June, awarding ceremony for winners and the best players of the mini-football tournament of the City Administration of Chelyabinsk, which was held in May, took place at the main stage of the Pushkin Park of Culture and Leisure. As a reminder, the team of SUSU international students took the second place.

The Head of Chelyabinsk, Evgeniy Teftelev, rewarded the athletes with silver medals and a cup. Moreover, SUSU student Hag Hamed was awarded a certificate as The Best Player.

Overall, there were 22 teams of players aged 18-30 competing for the champions’ cup. Football field brought together representatives of 28 nationalities: the teams of Azerbaijanian, Armenian, Bashkir, Belarusian, Tatar, Kazakh, Tajik, and Chechen youth; the team of Dagestan, a combined team of trainees of the Chelyabinsk Red Banner Military Aviation Institute of Navigators.

The tournament started with group matches; after them the semi-final games were played. South Ural State University students from Arab countries achieved good results in the game process and took the honorable second place.
