“The System of Obtained Knowledge Became a Strong Background,” – SUSU Graduate, Evgeniy Gorelyi

December 1 was the 60th anniversary from the foundation day of the Instrumentation Engineering Faculty. Nowadays its successor is the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science that includes 10 departments which perform training of bachelors, specialists, masters and postgraduates in the fields of instrument engineering and automated control, radio electronics and computer science.

Director of the OOO DTS-Ural Company, Evgeniy Gorelyi, is a graduate of the Instrumentation Engineering Faculty’s Department of Robotic Engineering Fundamentals. Evgeniy Anatolyevich told us how the knowledge obtained at SUSU helped him, and how he established the DTS-Ural Company.

– Why did you decide to get enrolled precisely to SUSU?

− I listened to the advice of Vladimir Shiryaev who nowadays is Head of the Department Control Systems. I got enrolled to the Instrumentation Engineering Faculty, to the Department of Robotic Engineering Fundamentals. It was very interesting to study and I never regretted my choice. I think that back then there were no analogues to our Department so it was correspondingly the best.

– How did your study at the university go?

− Just like for any student, the study was different: sometimes it was easy, sometimes it was hard, but it had always been funny and interesting. We had strict lecturers and the subjects they taught us were important. The system of knowledge that we obtained became a strong background for us. After finishing specialist’s degree program, I continued my postgraduate studies and had been teaching at the department of Robotic Engineering Fundamentals for about a year.

– How did you create the DTS-Ural Company?

− At some event, I wasn’t accepted to make ballistic missiles, therefore I decided to work in another sector of economy. Luckily, the obtained knowledge and experience allowed me to work independently, so I decided to establish the DTS-Ural Company. In the beginning, it was a small enterprise; then it started extending due to implementation of our knowledge in practice. Nowadays DTS-Ural is an independent enterprise which produces modern road-building crawler machinery. We cooperate with many enterprises working in the sphere of road building and gas and oil industry.

– What would you like to wish to the Instrumentation Engineering Faculty?

− I would like to congratulate the Faculty on the occasion of its 60th anniversary and wish lecturers long-living creativity, knowledgeable students and new achievements. In turn, I wish students to complete their studies at the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, obtain new knowledge, find a worthy job position and implement the obtained knowledge in practice.
