SUSU Professor’s Article Dedicated to the Effects of Sonochemistry is Indexed in Scopus and WoS

The May edition of the international scientific journal Ultrasonics Sonochemistry (The Netherlands) included published materials of research dedicated to the influence of acoustic cavitation on food product emulsion, that is, the possibilities of improving food products with the help of ultrasound. Doctor of technological sciences, professor Irina Potoroko, was part of the group of authors, and is the leader of one of the leading science schools at SUSU in the field of sonochemistry and ultrasound cavitation.

Earlier in 2014, the journal published two scientific articles of professor I.Yu. Potoroko with co-authorship with the leader of the School of Chemistry, professor of the University of Melbourne, Ashokkumar Matapandian and Doctor of Technological Sciences, professor O.N. Krasulya.

The publications were preceded by long joint work between SUSU scientists and colleagues from the University of Melbourne (Australia) and from universities in Moscow, Biisk, and others. The results of the research were presented in 2014 at the 15th congress of the European Sonochemical Community at the University of Avignon in France.

Thanks to publication in Ultrasonics Sonochemistry, results of the three articles are indexed in the international databases Scopus and Web of Science. In the international database Scopus, the Hirsch index of the author I.Yu. Potorenko is two, in the future the Hirsch index will increase in direct proportion to the citation of the journal’s materials.

The publications of Irina Potorenko’s articles in Ultrasonics Sonochemistry confirm the recognition of the discoveries of SUSU scientists in the area of sonochemistry to be on the level of the world’s academic society. This is one more important step within the 5-100 project, which enables the increased position of the university in the ratings of the best universities in the world, QS and THE, in terms of scientific and academic achievements.
