SUSU Has Signed an Agreement with an Iranian University

 

The delegation which included representatives of the Government and the business industry of Chelyabinsk region made a working visit to Iran. The purpose of the visit was to expand business partnerships and to build cooperation with the Islamic Republic. The delegation was headed by the Governor of Chelyabinsk region, Boris Dubrovsky, including representatives of South Urals; Vice-Rector for International Relations of SUSU, Victor Katochkov, took part in the trip.

During the meeting the Iranian side showed particular features of economic and educational systems of the country. A tour to large industrial enterprises and research centers had been prepared for the guests.

Within the working meeting the University of the province of Zanjan and South Ural State University signed a memorandum on educational research and technological cooperation of universities:

"Zanjan University is very interested in the experience of SUSU. Their representatives have expressed their desire to work on a joint post graduate education programs, master and bachelor double degree programs. It is also planned to work on a program of exchange of students and teachers, "- says Victor Katochkov.

According to the vice-rector, the interaction with the Iranian university has a high potential and opens up prospects for cooperation. SUSU plans to implement the partnership with the University of Zanjan next year:

"In the beginning of the next year we plan to start cooperation with the Iranian university as we have already been working on all forms of international educational activities for a long period of time. We successfully cooperate with ten Chinese universities, five universities in Europe, five universities in the US and more! Therefore, infusion of the new University into the process is not difficult for us. Especially because SUSU has already experience of teaching in English at five faculties"- says Victor Katochkov.
