Experts from SUSU Contributed to the Work of the International Eurasian Club of Intellectual Ideas

The first session of the Eurasian Club of Intellectual Ideas was held at M.O. Auezov South Kazakhstan State University (Shymkent, Kazakhstan) on January 28. The representatives of our University were involved in this event: political scientist, Candidate of Science (History) Dmitry Glukharev and an expert in the field of transport and logistic interaction in border territories, Candidate of Science (Engineering), associate professor Nikolay Goryaev.

The Fund of Social and Economic Development “Eurasian Commonwealth” has initiated the Club establishment. M.O. Auezov South Kazakhstan State University and South Ural State University (National Research University) acted as co-organizes.

The first meeting of the Club was of organization nature. The participants marked the importance of international cooperation in the Eurasian space and specified prospects of further cooperation.

The expert of the “Eurasian Commonwealth” Fund Dmitry Glukharev noted that at universities of former Soviet Republics over a number of years humanitarian dimensions of knowledge were pushed to the sidelines, giving place to other issues. Today actualization of the humanitarian platform is again in demand, especially in terms of intercultural exchange, revival of international cooperation, and joint struggle against extremist movements.

The establishment of the Eurasian Club of Intellectual Ideas in Shymkent (Kazakhstan) is an initial step on the road to international cooperation and the joint struggle against extremist movements. The Club participants intend to conduct a system analysis of the Russian and Kazakh interaction, study the issues of information security, jointly working on large-scale external economic projects. It’s also planned to organize academic mobility programs between Russian and Kazakh universities. The collaboration in research activities, staff and student exchange, joint publications in scientific journals and other types of interacademic cooperation are suggested.

In February 2016 the analogous Club branches are planned to establish on the basis of Kyrgyz and Tajik universities.
