Philologists of the Faculty of Journalism Have Created a Calendar of the Russian Literature Female Characters as a New Year’s Present for SUSU

'Gallery of Russian Literature Female Characters’ is a unique calendar characters which were represented by students-philologists of the third year of education of the Faculty of Russian language and Literature of SUSU. It was created as part of an innovative practical training course ‘Basics of Providing Professional Communication’ as an art object for reading lovers, as well as for ‘beginner readers’ to arouse their interest in studying the heritage of centuries of Russian culture.

Each month in the calendar corresponds to the character created by the writer whose birthday is marked round. A feature of the project is the fact that not only the students of SUSU but also students of other universities of the city enthusiastically agreed to cooperate with South Ural State University. It should be noted that among the authors of the project students of the three largest universities in our city, South Ural State University, Chelyabinsk State University, Chelyabinsk State Pedagogical University, can be named. Students have worked on the calendar as part of the project activities of the department during the semester – they were choosing the writers and characters themselves, thinking the overall concept and design of the calendar, and organizing the photoshooting process and subsequent work with photographs. The calendar ended the Year of Literature in Russia and became an exquisite New Year’s gift for home university, the faculty and the department.

Love of literature, good aesthetic taste, philological training, and special atmosphere helped participants to be reincarnated as famous characters and at the same time bring new charm and charisma to the already familiar characters. We hope that each day of the calendar will be happy for all whose fate is connected with one of the best universities in the country!
