Memorandum on Cooperation between South Ural State University and University of Mendel (Brno, Czech Republic) Has Been Signed

During his official visit to the Czech Republic at the end of 2015 head of the Department of Applied Biotechnology of the Institute of Economics, Trade, and Technology, Professor Maxim Borisovich Rebezov has signed a memorandum on long-term cooperation between South Ural State University (National Research University) and University of Mendel (Brno).

Mendel University in Brno is one of the oldest institutions of higher education in the Czech Republic. The university was founded in 1919 and originally bore the name of Higher Agricultural School. Today, Mendel University is a leader in training in the field of food industry not only in the Czech Republic but also in whole Europe.

During the five-year term of the memorandum between the universities active cooperation in the field of research and development is planned, as well as academic exchanges of teachers and students, joint publications in scientific journals and other kinds of academic interaction.

Particular attention in the process of cooperation between the two universities will be paid to the development of educational partnership: organization of internship programs, academic exchanges of teachers and students, practice of students for studying food technology in laboratories and technological parks of Mendel University equipped with modern equipment. Mendel University invites Russian students on thematic seminars and conferences devoted to the development of food technologies.
