Rector discussed the future of “Smart University” with young scientists

On the 28th of December on the square of “Sigma” the presentation of competitive growth program of SUSU in the framework of the Project 5-100 “Smart University for Sustainable Development” was held.

The presentation has become a concluding chord of the year 2015 in the course of meetings and discussions of the Rector Aleksandr Leonidovich Shestakov with the staff of the University for a full discussion of the strategic program of the University’s development.

From the moment of entrance of the University into the Project 5-100 more than 35 meetings and discussions have been conducted for two months in the course of which all important aspects of the program have been considered in detail, and the audience have got point-by-point answers to questions and have managed to offer their ideas of the University’s development in plain talk.

Final meeting in 2015 was devoted to the discussion of the Program of development of the University with Ph.D. and doctoral candidates, degree-seeking students. The meeting was held with Aleksandr Leonidovich Shestakov personally and the Vice Rector on strategic development of the University Andrey Vladimirovich Keller. Young scientists, who are working at the present time on their dissertation researches, are assigned a discrete role in the Project 5-100. This was emphasized by the Rector in his performance.

“We will support all young scientists who are ready to conduct research at a high international level, we count on them as on one of the key drive force of the Project 5-100 and the development of the University in the whole,” emphasized Aleksandr Shestakov.

At the final stage of the event the Rector answered questions of the audience about the perspectives of the University’s development in connection with its entrance into the Project 5-100. Attendees worried how the life of frontline employees will be changed in accordance to joining the Project; if there will be moneyed assistance for new researches, if a green light will be given for the development of new innovative areas. Aleksandr Leonidovich assured young scientists that the entrance of the University into the Project opens new scientific perspectives for each of them.
