Foreign Students Association at SUSU

On April 23 at South Ural State University the opening of Foreign Students Association branch will take place in Chelyabinsk.

In Chelyabinsk universities there are several thousands of foreign students though until now there were no any association which could unite them.

The Association was created in 1996 in Moscow as non-commercial and non-political organization aimed at strengthening of mutual understanding between international students of different educational institutions of the Russian Federation, their social organizations and administration, administrative departments which deal with education; it strives to promote friendship between different nations. The President of Foreign Students Association is Aniset Gabriel Kochofa, Candidate of Science (Geology).

At the present time Foreign Students Association unites about 160000 foreigners from 165 countries who study at different educational institutions of the Russian Federation.

Within the framework of the opening ceremony the First Festival of National Cultures of South Ural State University will be held. The main idea of this event is to form tolerant senses, develop interethnic integration and take preventive measures against xenophobia and extremism.

The Festival will be carried out in three stages; each stage will represent the creative contest in the following nominations - "Culinary Art", "Traditional Costume" and "Artistic Performance". The winners in each nomination will be awarded by special diplomas, certificates and valuable gifts.
