IX Open All-Russian Contest "Best Student Graduation Thesis on Marketing" is coming to the end

The summarizing of the contest results of IX Open All-Russian Contest “Best Student Graduation Thesis on Marketing” is almost finished. The contest was initiated by Marketing Specialists Guild and organized mainly by Marketing Faculty of Russian University of Economics named after G.V. Plekhanov with the assistance of Academic Association of Russian Universities in sphere of commerce, marketing and advertisement. This year more than 200 projects were sent from 96 universities of Russia and CIS to take part in the contest.

Traditionally in the contest and projects assessment procedure the professors from different universities took part thus the contest was fairer and open for the scientific and pedagogic society.

Faculty of Marketing of Russian University of Economics named after G.V. Plekhanov developed a special effective cooperation system of contest participants, organizing committee and jury on the basis of cloud technologies, service module for useful access to the server data containers for the users. The technology allowed simplifying and systemizing the document flow, effectively processing the coming applications, theses and assessments sheets.

Among the partners of the contest there are publishing houses Pretekst and Grebennikov which supply the participants with current business literature. Some magazines like “Practical Marketing”, “Retail Marketing” and others will award the winners with free one-year subscription. Faculty of Marketing of Russian University of Economics named after G.V. Plekhanov will give to the contest participants and nominees, who enter this year the Master’s program of the Faculty, an opportunity of prime choice of the top-priority Master’s program under the supervision of personal tutor.

Even at the initial stage of the contest we can clearly see that this year it is much harder to choose the winners because of high quality projects; it can be explained by the new conditions of effectiveness assessment of the universities which stimulate the work of teaching staff.

Also we should mention about the wide range of fields where the developed projects offer solutions to improve the effectiveness of marketing activity. Besides the graduation theses dedicated to the marketing of retail trade, educational services, travel industry, branding, social marketing, marketing of sports and tourism at different levels, from small to big business there were also some works devoted to the marketing problems of global level. In particular, some projects touched upon the activity of rocket and space industry enterprises of the Russian Federation at the international level or presidential elections in modern Russia. Within this contest there is a high interest towards non-commercial and ecological marketing which reflects the formation of tendency of improving social responsibility in the society.
