Fortum Company, one of the leading electric utilities concerns of Northern Europe countries, Russia and the Baltic Sea region, together with Finland Embassy in Moscow and South Ural State University in November organized the contest of essays among SUSU students about Finland in the English language.
The purpose of the contest is to get acquainted with different aspects of life in Finland and intercultural exchange.
The proposed topics for the essays: "That wonderful Finland!", "Finland and Finnish through the eyes of a Ural native", "Hello, Finland!" and "Why am I interested in Finland?".
The jury comprised:
- Helena Autio-Meloni, Cultural Counsellor at the Embassy of Finland in Moscow - chairman of the jury;
- Katachkov V.M., Vice Rector of International Activity of State Educational Institution of Higher Professional Education "SUSU";
- Chizhov S.D., First Deputy of CEO, Vice-President of Government Business and Business Sustainable Development of JSC "Fortum".
The results of the contest have been finalized on Novemeber 30, 2012. The winners of the contest will go to Finland in 2013 for training (attending the lectures at the University of Helsinki, excursions to the most interesting cities of Finland).
December 4 at 11.00 in Library room (Electronic Resources Hall, main building, 1st floor) the results of the contest will be announced and the winner will be awarded with the Certificates for internship in Finland.
JSC "Fortum" and SUSU Department of International Cooperation invite to take part in the ceremony dedicated to the results finalizing and winners awarding of the essay contest. We will be glad to see all of you among the participants of such a bright event.
