SUSU Wins Industrial Robotics Award

The annual Industrial Robotics Award ceremony took place at the Digital Innopolis Days forum in Kazan. The award is organized with the support of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Innopolis University Industrial Robotics Development Centre, the national leading centre in this field, as part of the “Means of Production and Automation” national project. In 2026, more than 60 organizations from 15 regions across Russia took part in this competition.

South Ural State University won in the “Best Educational Project in Robotics” category.

“This award is the result of the university community’s extensive efforts to develop expertise in automation and robotics. When establishing the Centre, we focused on the domestic industry’s current need for qualified professionals. The high regard in which the expert community holds our work demonstrates that our educational methods meet modern standards. This recognition is a strong incentive for us to continue improving the learning process, expand the reach of the Centre’s accumulated experience, and enhance the quality of training for specialists in high-tech industries,” said Alexander Wagner, Rector of South Ural State University.

The solutions and practices developed by the award winners will be scaled up and incorporated into regional and federal industrial robotics support programs.

This award recognizes the achievements of companies, developers, systems integrators, and educational institutions contributing to the advancement of Russia’s industrial robotics sector. The President of Russia Vladimir Putin set the goal of bringing Russia into the world’s top 25 countries in terms of robotization. Alexey Texler, Governor of Chelyabinsk Region, has previously noted that an ecosystem has been established in our region that enables the development of robotic solutions and their integration into any manufacturing process.
