Military field training is a crucial stage in the preparation of future reserve officers and sergeants. After completing theoretical studies at the university, students have an opportunity to apply their knowledge in practice, become familiar with the realities of military service, master the use of weapons and military equipment, learn to operate as part of a unit, and carry out assigned missions.
For many young people, taking the Military Oath became one of the most significant and memorable events of their lives. The presence of parents and relatives further emphasized the importance of the ceremony.
The Rector of South Ural State University Alexander Wagner noted the important role of the Military Training Centre in educating highly qualified specialists and fostering genuine patriotism.
“Today is a truly important and memorable day for each of you—you have taken the Military Oath. By pronouncing these solemn words, you have assumed a tremendous responsibility to defend the freedom, independence, and constitutional order of Russia, to protect our people and our Motherland. This is the choice of the most mature, strong, and devoted citizens of our country. My congratulations to you on this significant occasion. Our university is sincerely proud of you. I wish you further success, good health, and courage.”

Colonel Nikolay Karpov, Head of the SUSU Military Training Centre, emphasized that taking the Military Oath is one of the key milestones in preparing future defenders of the Fatherland and symbolizes a conscious commitment to serving the nation.
“The words of the Military Oath spoken by our cadets today will remain with them throughout their lives. I feel confident that they will carry the honourable title of Defender of the Fatherland with dignity and pride. Students who successfully complete their training at the Military Training Centre receive a military rank in addition to their civilian qualification. This opens up additional career opportunities within the law enforcement and security agencies of the Russian Federation.”

“Our country has always relied on the certainty that a new generation of remarkable, talented, and successful people will come after us to continue the great achievements and accomplishments of our state. We believe in you and in your desire to contribute to the prosperity of our country. Who you become and which path you choose is your decision, but may the Lord multiply your talents and strengths so that you become worthy sons and daughters of our Motherland.”

The Military Training Centre of South Ural State University is one of the largest such centres in Russia and the only one of its kind in our region. It provides training for reserve officers and sergeants in highly demanded military occupational specialties. The program is integrated with the university’s academic curricula, enabling students to obtain both a civilian profession and military-professional training. Over the years, the centre has trained thousands of specialists who successfully apply their knowledge both in military service and across various sectors of the national economy.
Today, the SUSU Military Training Centre remains a respected, highly sought-after, and important component of modern higher education in Russia.
