December 11th–13th, a “Digital Ural: Digital Transformation Technologies” Education-and-Practice Forum is being held at the Sigma academic building of South Ural State University.
Among the forum participants are mainly students of the “Digital Ural” Centre for Training Top IT Specialists. This Centre was created so that students in parallel to their training had a chance to communicate with the SUSU industrial partners and participate in solving real production and business tasks.
“This forum aims at organizing meetings for the “Digital Ural” Centre students with our industrial partners,” shares Director of the Centre and Director of the SUSU School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science Aleksandr Gollai. “The forum program includes topic-related lectures and practical classes, which will be held by our industrial partners’ leading practicing teachers, as well as a hackathon and round tables for the purpose of arranging the interaction between our university and industrial enterprises.”
The plenary meeting was attended by the Minister of Information Technologies, Communications and Digital Development of the Chelyabinsk Region Igor Fetisov.
“Such events help young people set professional goals and give them the required understanding of their future activity. That is what our country expects of them,” says Igor Fetisov. “I would like to thank SUSU, my alma mater, that it keeps track of and pins down the main IT trends, and makes them easy-to-understand and fascinating for young people. We hope that our human resources reserve will gain new serious-minded and competent specialists, who are passionate about their work.”
This forum has brought together representatives of the main industrial partners of the “Digital Ural” Centre: Chelyabinsk Forge-and-Press Plant, “Compass Plus” company, “Tinkoff” educational cluster, and Chelyabinsk Regional Centre for Navigation and Information Technologies (iTerritory).
“We offer various tasks to the participants,” shares Head of the Applied Developments Department at OOO “Compass Plus” company Vyacheslav Arkadyev. “Automation, analytics for the complex formats of payment services, applications development, usability analysis, that is, analysis of the patterns of a person’s behavior in this or that application, and of what can be done to make services more convenient. Among the tasks there is also an internal optimization of data flows, processes and programs.”
The forum will last for three days. Main classes for the student teams and work on our partners’ project tasks will be held at the Boiling Point, and the meeting between students and representatives of business companies to summarize the results will be held at the Sigma academic building on Saturday.
This event is organized as part of the grant from the “Human Resources for Digital Transformation” (“Top IT”) federal project under the “Data Economy and Digital Transformation of the State” national project, and is held with the support from the Ministry for Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of Russia and Analytical Centre for the Government of the Russian Federation, and with the support from the Ministry of Information Technologies, Communications and Digital Development of the Chelyabinsk Region.
