From May 25th through 30th of 2019, a SUSU delegation officially visited a number of schools and universities in Tajikistan. The programme included visits to secondary schools and higher education institutions in Dushanbe, Gissar, Nurek, and Bokhtar. The main goal of the trip was to tell Tajik university and school students about the advantages of studying at SUSU and to invite them to our university.
On May 19, gala concert of Vmeste (Together) International Festival of Creativity is to take place in the Activity Hall of South Ural State University for the 11th time.
The festival brings together talented choreographers, singers, musicians, reciters, photographers, and handcraft artists. Different stages of the Festival were held during the year in different cities of the Chelyabinsk region. The event is to conclude with a colorful concert in the capital of the Southern Ural on the Pioneers’ Day.
The University Council of SUSU made a decision to establish an International Research Laboratory of Virtual Reality. The new laboratory will be designed to carry out interdisciplinary research in the frameworks of cooperation with the European Journalism Training Association and the International Association for Media and Communication Research (IAMCR).

Representatives of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication of SUSU ISSH’s Faculty of Journalism took virtual participation in an international scientific session entitled “Journalism and PR in the Digital Era: New Challenges of the Time”, which was organised by Kostanay State University named after A. Every year, students of South Ural State University successfully perform at two international and one Russian Olympiads. Hexaferrites attract a great deal of attention from researchers around the world thanks to their unique physical properties. For several years now, the researchers at South Ural State University have been successfully carrying out works on obtaining and studying the functional properties of this class of magnetic materials. This is one of the most widely used magnetic oxides, which is undoubtedly a material of the future and can be used as a functional element for mechanical engineering and instrumentation engineering.
SUSU representatives have taken part in the presentation of the institutions of higher education of Kazakhstan, which was held in Chelyabinsk on April 22nd. On May 7, ceremonious events held within celebration of the 74th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War took place at South Ural State University.
As per tradition, the celebration started with a shooting competition held at the Marksmanship Centre at SUSU. This year was the third time of holding this competition. Teams representing the university’s leadership, higher schools, institutes and other subdivisions, listened to instruction and started competing for the title of the best team of shooters.
For the fifth time in a row South Ural State University has organized the Victory Waltz. More than 200 people took part in this dance flashmob dedicated to the heroic act of the Soviet soldiers in the Great Patriotic War.
The Tutor of a SUSU International Student project is being actively developed in South Ural State University. This project is organized by the International Student Support of the SUSU International Office. The university students have a chance to become part of that team.
On May 5, the team of athletes from South Ural State University triumphantly performed at the traditional city relay, held on the occasion of the Spring and Labor Day celebration. It was the first time that the relay was held as part of the Universiade of educational institutions of higher education of the Chelyabinsk region. SUSU students earned the highest reward.
The relay was held for the 87th time. On that day, more than 5 000 athletes took to the streets. Head of Chelyabinsk, Vladimir Elistratov, started the competition with a welcoming speech:
On May 17th-18th, dozens of venues dedicated to modern technologies, science, and technical creativity will open. Residents of our city and region will see the process of creating robots, automobiles, and aircrafts. The Rukami festival includes contests in technical creativity, excursions, master classes, scientific lectures, an exhibition by the engineering groups of the Chelyabinsk Region, and a performance, installations, and photo zones.
On May 17th, 2019, the South Ural State University Institute of Sport, Tourism, and Service and the Directorate of Mass Sporting events and the «Ready For Labour and Defence» Russian Physical Culture Program will hold the annual sports celebration «SUSU, a University of Sport!” at the Elena Elesina Track and Field Complex.

Students of South Ural State University received honorary credentials in the first regional contest of social advertisement called “The World without Fear”. On May 9, the whole Russia celebrates the main day in its history, the 74th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. South Ural State University will honor the heroic deed of Soviet soldiers by holding ceremonious events.

On the threshold of the Victory Day, SUSU will hold intra-university events featuring students, academics and administrative staff. Competition in shooting will be held among students and university staff at 9:00 in the Marksmanship Centre.
South Ural State University invites everyone to the Victory Waltz. This year’s dance flashmob dedicated to the heroic act of the Soviet soldiers in the Great Patriotic War will be held on the university square in front of the main SUSU building on May 7th at 13:15.
On May 9, the Immortal Regiment March that has already become national tradition of celebrating the Day of Victory in the Great Patriotic War is to be held in the Chelyabinsk region for the sixth time. Students of South Ural State University will take an active part in both organization of the march and in marching itself.
Formation of the Immortal Regiment column will start near South Ural State University, from where the regiment will march till the Eternal Flame.
